Thank you very much for making everything possible and I hope you will convey my thanks to all the employees who were present.

Thomas Sychterz has been a member of the University Club of Montreal since May 2013. Growing up in Lachine, he won various local and provincial awards for his hockey goaltending abilities. He was awarded a full hockey scholarship by Princeton, and then played professionally in Tours, France. After his goaltending career, Thomas went on to become a project leader at CIMA while pursuing his Masters in Engineering at the University of Ottawa, where he met his business partners, Frank Bouchard and Toby Maurice.

In 2013, the trio launched a product called Wipebook: the first fully erasable and reusable whiteboard notebook. It comes in lined, grid, blank, isometric and music sheet formats. It functions in the same way as a typical workbook, but the pages are coated with a UV film making them erasable and reusable. What is unique about Wipebook is that the ink of the marker does not wipe off with your finger, like a typical whiteboard; however, it is removable with a dry eraser and/or water. The value of a Wipebook is that its users can reuse the same notebook again, and again!

Thomas and his partners created Wipebook to resolve the excessive waste of paper seen in our society and unveiled the product on Kickstarter (a popular crowd funding platform) last November, with a modest goal of having $4,000 in sales after the first 30 days. Much to their surprise, Wipebook went viral and, within 30 days, they surpassed their goal by earning $430,000 in sales. This new product is now the 7th most successful Canadian Kickstarter to date and the founders will be testing themselves against the keen minds of  Dragon’s Den in Toronto on March 29th (air date to be announced once known).

Montréal, Québec, February 11th 2014 – Créa-MeD and the University Club of Montréal announced today a partnership that will serve to provide club members with direct access to Créa-MeD’s individualized medical services, including access to a former Olympic athlete as a personal trainer.  Additionally, the University Club of Montréal’s members will have privileged access to Crea-MeD’s gym normally used for individual fitness evaluations and private cardiac rehabilitation programs.

“At Créa-MeD, we are committed to helping our clients create wellness today, with tomorrow’s medicine. The University Club of Montréal has a rich history of offering its members prestigious services, and can now refer members to a medical organization dedicated to health excellence and customer service.

“Providing our members with access to medical services that address their needs in a timely and efficient way is very important to the University Club of Montréal. With the lack of family physicians, long wait times at hospitals and poor health follow up; we wanted to ensure our members a high level of customer care concerning their health and wellness,” said Sylvie Chevarie, General Manager of the University Club of Montréal. “We feel Créa-MeD, will provide the excellent medical care that our members deserve.”

In celebration of this partnership and the 2014 Olympics, Créa-MeD and the University Club of Montréal will host an evening with Jessika Dubuc – former Canadian Olympian and the latest addition to the Créa-MeD team. A specialist in Kinesiology and Cardiac rehabilitation, Jessica will discuss her journey as an athlete and what being an Olympic athlete has meant to her career in Kinesiology, Cardiac rehabilitation and personal fitness training.
