For business

A better way to do business

Start your team off right for the morning brainstorming session with coffee and croissants and then relax and discuss that new project — no cell phones, no laptops, no distractions.

Have lunch with your managers in the Billiard room while your junior team dines in the Breakfast room and discusses the tasks ahead. Then, head to the Founders room that has been prepped for the afternoon group session.  Seated in the boardroom, your team logs on to your corporate site via our Wi-Fi access, the conference phone gives access to out of town staff, the LCD projector reveals the latest corporate trends and the coffee and viennoiseries are continually refreshed. It’s private and discreet. A guest room has been reserved in one of our nearby hotel partners for the Vice-President. He’ll be refreshed before catching the early flight back to Toronto.

Among friends

A more comfortable way to relax

Now it’s time to unwind. Friends are waiting in the Leacock Lounge, where the mood is blessedly quieter. The sounds of the city faded behind French windows. The sommelier serves up a cocktail that is somehow just right for your mood. After sampling some homemade Clubhouse chips, head to the McCrae Library. Over a selection of tapas and on tap Montreal Brewery beer, play a quick game of pool before the Habs game starts on the big-screen TV.

You see an old friend settle in the club chairs and head over to chat. Chandra serves your favourite coffee as the last embers die in the fireplace. If you play your cards right, maybe he’ll order up a late night bottle of vintage wine from his private cellar housed at the Club and regale you with stories of older times and members gone but not forgotten.

Gastronomy at its best

An edible experience

You have guests coming to town and want to treat them to a night they’ll be talking about for the whole winter. You make your reservations early. You know the oyster parties always sell out. Champagne cocktails to start off the night while the fireplace crackles in the background. You’re seated at the centre table. Candles flicker underneath the stained glass windows. And the feast begins. Oysters served in many varieties. Your guests especially loved the bacon-wrapped deep fried oysters.  The buffet tables offer fine cheeses, breads, delicious salads and mouth-watering desserts, enough to satisfy even your pickiest guest. Finish the evening with Port and surprise your friends with a goodie-bag of the Club’s petit fours as you head out into the night.

Your father-in-law considers himself somewhat of a foodie. He calls on Monday to say he’ll be flying in for a mid-week visit. You call the expert Club staff for help. In less than 48 hours, they have a gourmet experience planned that will wow your discerning father-in-law. The Club concierge has arranged for a limousine to pick him up at the airport and a beautiful suite at the Ritz. A private room at the Club awaits you with a mantled fireplace and elegant art. James, wearing white gloves, greets you all with a smile. Amuse-bouches are served with champagne to start off what promises to be a gourmet experience. Eight courses, each paired perfectly with wines chosen by the sommelier, entertain the palate and all five senses. You swear you even see a little tear from the now smiling man at the other end of the table.

A social calendar

Where education meets comfort

You just finished work and head over to join the cocktail. A nice glass of wine after a hectic day is a good way to start the evening. Canapés are served on silver platters as the guest of honour heads from group to group giving everyone a few minutes of his time. The lights are dimmed; the signal that it is time to head to the University room to be seated for the presentation portion of the evening. The waiter discretely fills your wine glass during the talk. Tonight, it is a lecture on the current situation in the Middle East. Last week, it was a chocolate tasting and you can’t wait for the upcoming talk on art in Venice. On the Club’s private website, you see who else is registered and now look forward to catching up with old friends after the presentation for an impromptu dinner.
